“The heavens proclaim the glory of God
The skies display his craftsmanship”

(Psalm 19:1 NLT)

Fall at Learning Tree Farm
2018, oil on Canvas
24 x 8 inches

These lines of scripture are written on a scrap piece of paper and posted in my studio near my easel. Whenever I work on a landscape, they come to mind. Sunrises, sunsets, and mid-day fluffy clouds, especially in peaceful pastoral location, have always given me a feeling of peace and awe. When outside on a beautiful day, I’ll often joke that “days like this are a gift from God and to be inside is a sin’. I’m hoping to paint a few more landscapes with large cloud formations in this series. Like everything else in life, I’ll have to see where it takes me.

This particular landscape was from an outing with the Loudoun Sketch Club to Learning Tree Farm, near Marshall VA. It was one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve ever been to. I’m delighted that it has found a home in a private collection. Prints are available in my Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/listing/592921470/giclee-print-learning-tree-farm
